Celebrate Pamukkale Hierapolis with Your Private Tour Experience
Overview
Pamukkale, meaning ‘cotton castle’ in Turkish, is famous for its warm, mineral-rich springs and cascading pools. It’s where Hierapolis, a notable Greco-Roman thermal complex with early-Christian architecture, was founded. Ancient Greeks believed in the healing powers of its hot springs, leading to a Roman thermal station being built here.
Today, Pamukkale is one of Turkey’s most popular tourist destinations. Visitors are enchanted by its mineral forests, petrified cascades, and terraced pools resembling a natural nymphaeum. A typical tour includes visits to Hierapolis Ancient City, Turkey’s largest necropolis, the Domitian and Byzantium Gates, and a grand theater seating 20,000. Optional activities include swimming in the Cleopatra Pool, with an additional entrance fee of 10 Euros.
The tour usually starts at around 9:00 AM with pickup from your hotel, followed by a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Hierapolis Ancient City. After exploring the ruins, the tour concludes with a visit to the travertine terraces formed by calcium bicarbonate-rich thermal springs, resembling frozen waterfalls. The tour ends around 4:00 PM, returning you to your hotel.
The tour rate is 160 Euros per person.
