The Exclusive Cappadocia Highlights Tour begins at 09:30 from your hotel in Goreme, or slightly earlier from other towns (we will confirm the exact pick-up time for other towns upon booking). Our first destination is the renowned Goreme Open Air Museum, a significant monastery complex featuring nine churches dating back over 1000 years. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, our guide will provide insights into the region’s history and the museum’s cultural significance. After spending 1.5 hours exploring the museum, we’ll proceed to Cavusin Village, historically home to both Turkish and Greek populations until the compulsory population exchange of 1924. Our guide will discuss the reasons for and consequences of this exchange, as well as cultural similarities between the two communities.

Next, we will visit Pasabag Fairy Chimneys, also known as “Monks Valley,” to see some of the best-preserved fairy chimneys in Cappadocia. These unique rock formations have multiple heads, and our guide will explain their geological formation and the broader region. Following this, we will drive to Avanos for lunch at a charming boutique restaurant.

After lunch, we will witness a kick-wheel pottery demonstration in Avanos, an ancient art form dating back nearly 4000 years to the Hittites. Then, we will journey for approximately 30 minutes to Kaymakli Underground City, the most impressive underground city in Cappadocia, featuring storages, churches, living areas, and wineries carved into the rock. Our final stop will be at Pigeon Valley, offering a stunning panoramic view of the valley and Uchisar Castle. After this last visit, we will return you to your hotel around 5:00 pm.
