Exclusive Cappadocia Monasteries Tour with Gourmet Lunch
Overview
Our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel at 09:00 AM to begin your exploration of magical Cappadocia. Our first destination will be Eski Gumusler Monastery, known for being well-preserved and located away from the main areas. One of its notable features is a fresco depicting the smiling Virgin Mary, a unique sight possibly due to restoration quirks.
Following our monastery visit, we’ll journey to Guzelyurt (Gelveri) village, once home to Cappadocia’s largest Christian population until 1924. Here, we’ll explore Monastery Valley, which houses ancient churches like the 4th-century St. Gregory Church, along with a small underground city.
After a satisfying lunch break, we’ll proceed to Selime Monastery and Cathedral, the largest monastery in the Cappadocia region. Climbing up to this impressive site, we’ll tour the monastery’s various sections, including the kitchen, cathedral, and church.
The tour will conclude with a leisurely drive back to your hotel, where we’ll drop you off around 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
