Meeting with Nature: Classic Green Tour and Lunch

The Meeting with Nature: Classic Green Tour and Lunch begins at 09:30 from your hotel in Goreme, or slightly earlier from other towns (we will inform you of the exact pick-up time for other towns at the time of booking). A short 5-minute drive will take us to the Goreme Panorama Point, where you can enjoy a stunning view of Goreme Town and the valleys of Cappadocia from an elevated perspective. Our guide will provide you with insights into the history and geography of the region.

Following a 40-minute drive, we will arrive at Derinkuyu Underground City, the deepest underground city in Cappadocia. This fascinating site reaches 60 meters below ground and contains all the typical features of a classical underground city.

Next, we will visit Ihlara Gorge, one of Turkey’s most impressive canyons. A 3 km hike through this breathtaking gorge will be a highlight of our tour. We will hike for about an hour along the river, passing by Byzantine rock-cut churches adorned with frescoes. Our hike will conclude near Belisirma village, where we will enjoy lunch at a charming riverside restaurant.

After lunch, we will drive approximately 15 minutes to Selime Monastery, the largest monastery in the region. Here, we will explore the monastery, kitchen, cathedral, and church sections. Following this, we will take a 1.5-hour drive back to the Uchisar area, where you will witness a traditional stone art demonstration and visit Pigeon Valley. The tour concludes with a drive back to your hotel, arriving around 17:30.
